Race 1 wave start lists are now live on the website and linked below.
All runners who entered before 9:00am Friday have been allocated a specific start wave, please check the list and ensure you line up for your designated start.
(We would greatly appreciate it if you did not swap around or start in another wave as it compromises our plans as we cannot exceed the group size limits. Requests with a good reason can be discussed at the registration marquee on the day. Thank you.)
Entries are still open with new entrants being allocated a wave start time after pre-entered runners, as follows:
- Long course: new entrants will start between 9:40am and 9:45am
- Medium course: new entrants will start between 11:05am and 11:10am
- Short course: new entrants will start between 12:15pm and 12:35pm
Please arrive no more than 20mins before your start and read the event program as refresher for how things will roll. It’s going to be super fun to be back on the trails together!
COVID Update 2:00pm 16 June: We are thrilled to confirm that the Trail Series race #1 will take place on Sunday 20th June as planned. Races will commence in a series of wave starts (so we don’t exceed the permitted group sizes) and runners are asked to arrive no more than 20minutes before your start time and leave soon after finishing. All event details are explained in the event program HERE.
Race 1 kicks off the 2021 season at Yarra Bend, rescheduled to 20 JUNE!
The trails beside our beautiful Yarra River are the starting point for the 2021 Series and we’re looking forward exploring this beautiful ‘inner-city’ wilderness onmce again.
You’ll weave along the flowing, non-technical trails beside the Yarra River in these popular and accessible courses – a great way to get some fresh air and freedom this winter!
When: Sunday 20 June, 2021 (rescheduled from 6 June due to Victorian COVID-lockdown)
Where: End of Deep Rock Rd. Yarra Bend Park, Fairfield
Long Course: 15km
Medium Course: 11km
Short Course: 5.2km
The courses are the same as 2019 at Yarra Bend, but will be held during daylight hours (NOT as a night race as was the case in 2016-2019). Yarra Bend Park is Melbourne’s largest natural bushland park. Enjoy the leafy grounds and abundant wildlife whilst on the trails.
The start / finish area at Yarra Bend Park takes place in a beautiful parkland surrounding the Yarra River. Not far away is the iconic bridge to Studley Park Boat House where there is a cafe and you can hire a canoe – what better way to celebrate your morning trial run!
Things to see and do for spectators:
- There is a playground nearby for kids, permanent toilets and car parking areas providing good facilities for families.
- There are a range of short and long walking tracks that start and finish along the Yarra Bend Trails
- Check out the Parks Victoria visitor guide for maps and further information
Otherwise, hang out at the Event Expo where the finish line is and give everyone a well-deserved cheer as they come through at the end.
