Overview – Yarra Bend Race

SUNDAY 5 JUNE, 2022

RACE 1 EVENT PROGRAM: The event program for Yarra Bend is essential reading for all event attendees and covers details like event schedule, course descriptions, car parking and more. READ IT HERE.

The trails beside our beautiful Yarra River are once again the starting point for the 2022 Trail Running Series and we’re looking forward to exploring this beautiful ‘inner-city’ wilderness, restriction-free! It’s an oasis in an urban desert… come on, try it!

You’ll weave along the flowing, non-technical trails beside the Yarra River in these popular and accessible courses – a great way to connect to the trail running community and get outdoors in the winter.

WHERE: End of Deep Rock Rd. Yarra Bend Park, Fairfield
START TIMES: For the full race day schedule including start times, click HERE
DISTANCES:

  • Long Course: 15km
  • Medium Course: 11km
  • Short Course: 5.2km

The Long and Medium courses are the same as the 2021 races held at Yarra Bend, except for the short course which is new and improved! Yarra Bend Park is Melbourne’s largest natural bushland park. Enjoy the leafy grounds and abundant wildlife whilst on the trails.

Venue Information

The start / finish area at Yarra Bend Park takes place in a beautiful parkland surrounding the Yarra River. Not far away is the iconic bridge to Studley Park Boat House where there is a cafe and you can hire a canoe – what better way to celebrate your morning trial run!

Things to see and do for spectators:

  • There are permanent toilets and car parking areas providing good facilities for families.
  • There are a range of short and long walking tracks that start and finish along the Yarra Bend Trails
  • Check out the Parks Victoria visitor guide for maps and further information

Otherwise, hang out at the Event Expo where the finish line is and give everyone a well-deserved cheer as they come through at the end.
